Compact Course

Purpose
Compact course is recommended for students who have less time for the Authentic Course. The course is more focused on learning music easier and more friendly basis.

Authentic Course

Purpose
Authentic Course is a GMI’s primary course for students. It is recommended for students who wish to develop musical skills through our high-level classes (instrumental lesson, instructed practice and theory class)

Purpose
Dual Course is recommended for students who wish to study multiple instruments simultaneously to find which one suits more to oneself, and develop varied skills.

Certificates Courses

Intends to develop students’ musical knowledge and skills to demonstrate proficiency in this area: Course objectives include achieving certificates such as ABRSM or TRINITY, competition awards, scholarships etc.

Certificate Lesson

Purpose
This course is designed for students preparing practical exam or competitions, this course is highly recommended for students who need extra attention for improving technical skills. The students enrolled for this course will have the assigned tasks/scores to study.

Purpose
By taking the combined Certificate Course at GMI, students can maximize engagement for both theoretical knowledge in music and level of performance. Our ultimate goal is to make students to have better understanding in music by learning musical languages (terms, articulations, transposition and compositions etc.) underneath the assigned music.

Young Professionals Courses

This course is for the students majoring in music, already enrolled in music schools worldwide, preparing placement exam for universities or college-level music theory courses (History of Western Music, Music Theory and Aural Skills).

Instrumental Lesson

Purpose
YP Instrumental Lesson provides private lessons in-depth. We help students to acquire the refined performance skills and the high-level techniques. The students will learn how to analyze the distinctive compositional styles written by various composers and explore a suitable technique by the assigned repertoire.

Music Theory

Purpose
The students who are registering this course should be able to determine and explain the basic concepts of music theory in advanced level. The contents of this course are – understanding counterpoint, part-writing, professional level of chords/score analysis alongside gaining the deepest level of musical/theoretical knowledge.

Aural Skills

Purpose
Aural Skill sessions will incorporate a mixture of various musical exercises such as recognizing rhythms, advanced intervals and modulations which will increase the performance level. Taking this course will also improve the sense of rhythm and sight-reading skills. The basic knowledge of music theory is required for this course.

Music History

Purpose
By registering this course, students will cover the fundamentals of the History of Western Music and gain a broader knowledge of six different historical backgrounds. Middle Age – Renaissance – Baroque – Classical – Romantic – 20 Century & Contemporary era. Students will exercise the methods of acknowledging the significant changes/transformations of the music composed in different eras.
